The Real Truth About MLM and

Ok here's the deal...

If you're not aware, there is a huge debate in the MLM world with regard to
whether or not duplication is actually possible.

Explaining this may get kind of tricky so PLEASE read this carefully.

The dictionary defines the word "Duplicate" as:
"a copy exactly like an original."  or   "to make an exact copy of"

So, if we are using the dictionary/textbook definition of the word then the reality
is that duplication is NOT possible (at least at face value).

Why?

Because if John sponsors/recruits 20 people in 24 hours by sending an email out to
a pre-existing list that he's already got a relationship with; then it's impossible to
think that those 20 people are all going to have lists and be able to recruit the
exact same way and each sign up 20 people in 24 hours.

or

If Sue is really good at cold calling, then its not fair to expect that everyone she
recruits is going to be as good at picking up the phone and 'dialing for dollars'.

As a matter of fact, if Sue goes out and buys 100 leads, calls all of them,
and signs up 5 people in her mlm program; is it realistic to think that those 5 people
are going to be willing or able to do the same thing?

I think not... especially when you throw in the fact that person number 2 that Sue
recruited is a much better internet marketer so he doesn't have to use the phone and
person number 5 is scared to death of the phone to begin with.

This argument that duplication is not possible is centered around the thought that
people are different and that it's not realistic to expect everyone to recruit the same
way or to have the same strengths.

This argument makes sense to me & I would even go as far as to say that I am in total
agreement with this argument, except for 2 things:

#1 If a REAL automated system (like the systems every company "claims"
to have) actually existed then we could (in theory) expect duplication
   to happen

#2 When we use the word duplication are we really talking about
people doing the EXACT same thing, or, are we actually talking
about everyone just being able to get some results?

Here's what I mean with regard to statement #2

If I recruit 8 people using internet marketing (because that's my strength)
and those 8 were able to each recruit an average of 6 people each using various other
methods (cold calling, direct mail, etc..) then as far as I'm concerned I achieved the
"duplication" I was looking for because the fact of the matter is that my business
is growing and everyone is seeing results. This is by no means the "textbook" definition
of duplication but I'm still happy with the results.

or how about this...

If I recruit 5 people over the course of a month and those 5 are able to recruit
36 people each in just 2 days; then technically that's not duplication...but you better
believe that I'm pretty darn happy about it.

I hope what I'm saying makes sense.  My other point is this:

I say duplication is possible.

I'm not talking about textbook duplication, but rather the duplication we are really
talking about in context where everyone is seeing results and at the absolute least
hitting their "magic number"

But this is possible if and only if there is a REAL system in place. The kicker is that
the system must be so simple that it practically forces people to succeed.
There are 3 reasons that this system does not exist at the time of me writing this article

#1. Everyone is so close minded that they have closed off every thought
    that this can be done.

#2. The MLM companies don't understand the importance of creating a
real system to put in place that is not just simple, but also EASY!

#3. I'm in the process of working on it so don't worry...its coming.

I could go on for another 2 hours on this topic and I've even gotten
into some pretty heated debates with people about it. But the bottom
line is this:

If we stop taking the definition of duplication literally and start looking at the
"spirit" of the definition then we'll understand that what we're looking for is not
EXACT DUPLICATION but rather, just for everyone to get some results and for our business
to grow.

also...

Everyone seems to be asking themselves the wrong question.
Instead of asking:
"Is duplication possible?"

we should be asking
"How can we get as close to textbook duplication as possible"

This shift in focus causes our brains to start seeking out a solution to the challenge;
rather than focusing on whether or not the goal is even attainable.

Its kind of like asking

"Is flight possible?"

as opposed to assuming that flight is possible and then asking:

"How can we achieve flight?"  <---- This is the right question to ask!

I'm sure I'll have tons of people e-mailing me because of this little article
(some in agreement, some in TOTAL disagreement) either way...I hope I've made some sense;
or at the absolute least caused you to do some thinking.
